I, your very own Peggy Hill, am currently substituting in my alma mater…watching roughly 15-10th graders watch a musical version of Camelot. Believe it or not, this is the first “video day” I’ve encountered in my West Virginia substitute teaching venture. I just applied for a job in North Carolina at an “arts school” that apparently has a grand piano & sweeping staircase in the entrance-The Sandhills Theater Arts Renaissance School. Thing being, they don’t have a high school. But their website says they are looking toward creating a “new and exciting way of educating high school students”. Hmmm… I recently had an onslaught of day trips. Really just two. To Erie, PA with Stephanie, Paul, and Riley to visit Naomi and Jamey… Everything went topsy turvy there.
And to Washington, DC to visit Danelle.
Living passionately. My mom went with me to DC. She’d never ridden a metro. It was fun. She and I basically walked all over DC, then we met Danelle for some delicious Thai food (the remains of which are in that brown paper bag).
We took Maggie to a Japanese restaurant last night. We sat at one of the Hibachi tables. Everything I put in my mouth was delicious-the sushi, the soup, the salad, the crab salad appetizer, the hibach..ed dinner. Maggie loved it, but I don’t think she would have eaten a single thing had the man not been there cooking. She would have simply insisted she hated it without trying anything.
In a couple weeks we go to Disney World. As a whole family. Jess, Jen, and Maggie are flying. Mom, dad, Heather, and I are driving. But at least we’re taking the suburban so that everyone has their own seat. Bonuses: Sarey, Kara, and Toddles are all working at Disney right now; mom and dad are going on their own side trip, leaving Heather and I with 2 days to ourselves. Could be fun, could be disastrous, could be some of both. We’ll just have to see.
